Jim Hoffman devotes his practice almost exclusively to bankruptcy litigation. Jim’s bankruptcy practice has included numerous Chapter 7, 11 and 13 Trustee representations, bankruptcy legal malpractice defenses, national creditor representations (including many Fortune 100 and 500 Companies) and general litigation and appeals in all aspects of bankruptcy law. Jim has also acted as a court appointed bankruptcy disbursing agent and mediator.

Jim is a member of the State Bar of Texas, San Antonio Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, member and Past President of the San Antonio Bankruptcy Bar Association, and is Co-Chairman of the Western District Federal Courts Committee. A frequent speaker on bankruptcy issues, Jim was named the San Antonio Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year for 2017 by, and has been listed in, the Best Lawyers in America for many years. Jim is consistently listed as a Super Lawyer in Texas Monthly Magazine and has also been selected for inclusion as one of San Antonio’s Best Lawyers in Scene in San Antonio Monthly Magazine since its inception in the area of bankruptcy law. Jim is an Eagle Scout, and he has volunteered extensively with the Boy Scouts of America, his church and in the community and received the Time Warner Hometown Hero Award in recognition of his many community accomplishments.
